"The Dimple of the Universe"

"The Dimple of the Universe" is a phrase coined by writer John Trotwood Moore to describe the "Middle Basin" of Tennessee in his book Songs and Stories of Tennessee in the early twentieth century. It has become a nickname for Maury County in the intervening years.[1]
