The battle was a strategic Union victory as Schofield's army was able to withdraw north toward other elements of the Union Army, thus preventing his units from being cut-off and saving the Union forces in Tennessee from being defeated in detail.[1] The Battle of Spring Hill was immediately followed by the Battle of Franklin the next day.[2]
